1970 Ford Mustang Coupe
This is a rare opportunity to own a verifiable 3 owner, 50k original
mile documented Pony.
A California car since new with no rust, weld work or obvious accidents. Factory 351 Cleveland 2 barrel motor optioned with Power Steering, Power Brakes, Disc Brakes, Air Conditioning.
The exterior paint job is in showroom condition, and the interior is near perfect.
The front seats were just re-foamed and upholstered, new headliner installed including new front and rear window seal. New Air Conditioning compressor installed. Air Conditioning blows ice cold.
Radio replaced with an aftermarket original look a-like with auxiliary connection, bluetooth, etc.
A big manilla envelope has tons of maintenance paperwork including a manual with a newspaper cut out when this vehicle was listed for purchase, original window sticker, sampled pile of old registration slips.
The car comes with a clean, California title jack, spare (which has an old Goodyear tire on it), misc. paperwork, original set of keys (4 total)
Car History : It has been in California its whole life and remained with the original owner up until 1995. In 1995 the second owner had purchased the car for $6,500 and invested just short of $11,500.
The second owner had gone through the fuel system, serviced the transmission, power steering box, and replaced misc. lights / bushing all throughout the car. He had refreshed the suspension with new shocks, and wheels with new tires.
In 2004 he decided to have the paint job refreshed which cost him $6000 (equivalent to $7900 today). The car was sanded down to bare metal, misc. the original front and rear bumpers re-chromed and put back together. The paint job quality is very good. Panel fitment, and gap gauge is good as well.
There are no signs of issues or bubbles anywhere although there are a few, minimal scratches. In 2016 2nd owner had some financial issues and asked by his best friend (3rd owner) to purchase the car from him. Although he really liked the car he didn’t have the money and therefore it was financed through the bank.
Just completed a 1600 mile trip from Los Angeles, California to Houston, Texas in anticipation of presenting the vehicle for sale in Technoclassica, Essen, Germany.
This is the perfect car for somebody looking to purchase their first classic Pony as it checks all the boxes of a car which can be collected and worth more in years to come.
