1968 Volvo P1800S

1968 Volvo P1800S in original color (94, Dark Green)
This vehicle was purchased from a long time owner who owned the car for 25 years. He was a mechanic who had closed down his shop and retired.
This car was his baby, and now hes just too old to drive her.
The paint job is nice and was done with the engine outside of the car.
The engine was rebuilt and has less than 2000 miles on it since.
All new hardware throughout the engine bay including correct clamps hoses and era appropriate technical decals. Radiator was recored, a new expansion tank and windshield washer fluid canister fitted.
New alternator with internal voltage regulator was retrofitted instead of the ancient generator.
All new period correct clutch braided wiring harness was installed. Clean battery box with new battery installed last year.
Entire electrical system in excellent working order.
All lights, gauges work. Clock works too but its not accurate. Cigarette lighter, cabin dome lights, reverse lights, instrument panel lights all work.
Perfect front grill and chrome surround, excellent body trim.
Bumpers are original and they do show some pitting on the chrome, but still very presentable.
Original hubcaps on the original steel wheels. New beauty rings were installed as well as 4 new Toyo high performance summer tires.
Clean undercarriage, solid floors and rockers. Some rust repair on the frame rails, and a section below the front grill (see photos).
Transmission shifts smooth, working over drive. New clutch was installed when the engine was rebuilt.
Interior was completely redone and it looks amazing.
Perfect dash, headliner, carpeting and upholstery on seats.
Door panels redone in correct pattern.
Cool sport wood steering wheel replaced the original steering wheel, period correct.
Original radio was sourced and fitted, however it’s not wired up and there are no speakers either.
Suspension feels solid, Kyb gas adjust shocks, new polyurethane bushings from IPD Usa.
New exhaust system from front to back.
Recent service that I’ve done in the past 2 weeks billed at 1600$ include the following:
– Polyurethane bushings
– Tie rod ends
– Center connecting rod
– Oil change
– Coolant changed
– New plugs and wires
– Carburetors synced and adjusted
– New speedometer angle drive
– New drive shaft coupler and center carrier bushing
Clean trunk area, no signs of any accident.
Car comes with all records, books, shop manuals and literally a trunk full of parts. What’s in the parts bin? From additional gauges, wiring looms, new water pump, new gas sending unit, various relays and electrical components to original toolkit, floor jack, matching spare tire, oil
filters, switches etc etc..
This is a really nice Volvo that has been dialed in and then some. Recently completed a 1000 mile round trip and it was an absolute joy.
Can’t think of anything that it needs.
