Incredibly original. No welding, or cutting of any kind. Has been in storage since 1987. Hard to find oil cooler still on the engine.
All of the original seams are still very present. The car has a few bruses, but even so all the panels line up quite well, and shut well. Even the driver side door shuts like its supposed to…!

1971 Datsun 240z Series I in Universal Blue (Color Code 903) with 8,900 on the Odometer

Exterior / Body : The car has been repainted once in the factory color. It is fairly straight apart from a few dings here, there. There is one good dent on the passenger side fender behind the wheel well that needs attention. I would rate the current paint job a 5-6/10. There are some areas which were sprayed with primer, other areas that have little paint difference in the blue. It looks decent, but this car really deserves a proper paint job. The undercarriage is very solid, and is almost completely rust free. The only rust which I see is behind the driver side dog leg, infront of the rear wheel (see photo), and passenger floor board.

Interior : The interior is mostly complete, but does need some help. The driver and passenger rubbers around the doors are shot and need to be replaced, the front seats have rips / are coming apart, dash has some cracks.

Technik : The engine starts up easily, especially with the choke activated. It has good power. The car needs front end / brake work. It pulls to the left, has some chaffing noise from the brakes. The clutch grabs too soon, and it is hard to put it into gear. I believe this is a clutch slave cylinder. There is some oil seepage underneath the valve cover.
Conclusion : All in all this is a very good starting point for an early Z. With some work you can have a really nice
car.
